3.2 Chute system and Supports

• Chute system produced are generally fabricated of Grade 304 Stainless Steel, however this parameter can be modified as required by specifications or other project constraints. Chute shall be fully factory assembled with all joints welded. All chutes shall be flush interior without any rivet, bolts or clips protruding into the chute opening.
• If not explicitly noted in specifications, Excel can design optimal chute diameters based on the principles of Value Engineering and to comply with NFPA 82, ensuring that the most economical solution is always presented to our clients. The standard diameters of the chutes are available in 60cm, 70 cm, and 80cm and up to 90cm diameter. The standard chute size is 60cm as per NFPA recommendation.
• Chute thickness design is based on in compliance with NFPA code. However, extra strengthening is always required at the offset elbow in the ground floor garbage room based on the value engineering.
• Chute supports are fabricated of 50X50X5mm angles. Supports are either cold galvanized or hot dipped galvanize, as required by the specifications.
• All chutes are painted in a pre-approved sound damp membrane. In some instances, should specification necessitate.

3.1.2 Intake doors

• Our intake doors are fully fabricated from stainless steel and use the highest quality accessories.
• The doors are 100% stainless steel bottom hinged, to open noiseless, self-sealing and self-closing. The design of the door opening will ensure that there is no blockage of the chute due to the falling refuse.
• Our doors can be 2.0 hour fire rated if required by the customer and have the ability to pass some of the world’s most stringent testing requirements.
• Electro-mechanical locks are installed on every door; the locks assure that the chute doors are fully locked during cleaning and maintenance of the chute.
• Our unique additional FIRE GUARD system links the firefighting system to the locking Mechanism, ensuring all doors is locked, should a fire occur in the chute. This system is optional only if required by customer. Our doors are standard with single light (Red) to ensure about the Safety of chute use if required by customer double lights (Red- Green) can provided. Our unique ADDLITE system uses three lights (amber) to identify the impending commencement of chute Closure (in case of using the AUTO-CLEAN system).
